ABA Construction Opportunities Conference

Afghanistan Builders Association (ABA) was honoured to organize the Construction Opportunities Conference on July 16th, 2017 at U.S Embassy in Kabul, Afghanistan. The Conference was a tremendous opportunity for GIRoA, International donors and the people of Afghanistan. This conference will help grow the industrial base that GIRoA and international donors rely upon to build and maintain its strategic infrastructure. Additionally, a robust industrial base leads to increased bid competition and thus better value to the GIRoA and donors. It was aimed to present projects and business opportunities in Afghanistan and inform the Afghan Contractors regarding the Fiscal Year 2017-2018 Projects potentials in different construction sectors in Afghanistan and it was the largest gathering of donors & contractors in Afghanistan.

The Conference specifically looked to discuss and explore the tremendous business opportunities exist in construction sector in 2017-2018, and support Afghan construction companies doing business with USACE, CSTC-A, MOD-CPMD, MOI-FD, USAID, US State Department, GIRoA sectorial ministries in Afghanistan and find Business matchmaking opportunities with several other national & international construction companies.

The ABA Construction Conference was attended by high ranking official from Afghanistan and International delegates, US Army Corps of Engineers Transatlantic Afghanistan District T-AA “USACE”, United State Aid for International Development “USAID”, US State Department, Combined Security Transition Command Afghanistan Combined Joint Engineering “CSTC-A CJ-ENG”, Ministry of Defense Construction and Property Management Department “MOD-CPMD”, Ministry of Interior Affairs Facilities Directorate “MOI-FD”, Ministry of Urban Development & Housing “MUDH”, Ministry of Energy & Water “MoEW”, Ministry of Public Works “MoPW”, Kabul Municipality, NGOs, Donor Agencies and other government and private sector representatives.

The opportunities were discussed in plenary sessions in order to explore the tremendous construction opportunities and participants could participate in B2B Meetings with their peers and counterparts through pre-scheduled meetings.

ABA, representing the private sector especially construction sector, strives to connect and promote Afghanistan construction sector in the global standard in order to develop national and international civilization and economic growth. We are committed to contribute in introducing the construction sector, promoting the opportunities and informing Afghanistan construction sector to attract the national and international donors.

We hope that the event would have created unique opportunities for Afghan construction companies and international donors who wish to do businesses in Afghanistan’s growing and untapped market.
